WWOOFers and Hosts, in the summer of 2023, share with the world how WWOOF has made a difference in your life. Take to social media to share photos and stories that capture the magic of WWOOFing!

Post your photos and videos to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok This summer, and tag @wwoofcanada on your post.

Photo Contest

This summer, share your photos on social media and tag @wwoofcanada in your post.

Every month this summer, we’ll choose our three favourites. Those finalists will be posted to our Instagram, where our followers will get to decide who takes home the cash prize. Monthly winners will be awarded $200, a WWOOF SWAG package, and a free WWOOF Canada membership. Selections will be made at the end of June, July, and August.

Photos:

Capture high-quality photos that show people the magic of WWOOF. Photos should showcase WWOOF’s diverse members, highlight the fun of WWOOFing/hosting, and inspire others to have incredible WWOOF adventures on farms across Canada.

Your photos should:

  • Have good lighting, framing, and focus!
  • Show WWOOFers and/or hosts
  • Show people’s faces, especially their smiles.
  • Show bountiful gardens, stunning vistas, community moments, delicious meals, hard-work and cooperation, and other unique and interesting moments.
Rules & Reminders:
  • The contest is open only to current (at the time the photos were taken) WWOOF Canada members – both hosts and WWOOFers.
  • The photographer MUST obtain permission from all people featured in the photo before submitting
  • All photos should have been taken in the previous year
  • Photos accompanied by a story will be awarded additional points.
  • By submitting a photo to this contest, you grant WWOOF Canada an irrevocable, royalty-free license to copy, distribute, modify, display and perform publicly, and otherwise use, as well as authorize others to use, your video for any promotional or advertising purpose and in any format
Judging & Prizes:

At the end of June, July, and August, the WWOOF Canada team will choose three photos as finalists. Those photos will be posted to the WWOOF Canada Instagram.  Whichever photo receives the most ‘likes’ during the specified time-frame, will receive the $200 cash prize, SWAG package, and free membership.

Winners will receive $200, a WWOOF SWAG package, and a free WWOOF Canada membership.

  2. Take stunning, high-quality photos during your WWOOF adventure.
  3. Share your photos on social media, and tag @wwoofcanada on your post. OR send them with an email to info@wwoof.ca
Important Dates:

Photo Contest Deadlines to enter:

  • June 30, 2023 at 5pm EST
  • July 30, 2023 at 5pm EST
  • August 31, 2023 at 5pm EST

The finalists will be posted to our Instagram the week after the deadline.

TikTok / Reels Video Contest

WWOOFers and Hosts, capturing video that shows us the magic of WWOOFing or hosting. We want you to share your favourite moments by creating a TikTok/ Instagram Reel video.

Post your Tiktoks and Instagram Reels and tag @wwoofcanada on your post., to be entered to win! Our three favourite videos will be posted to our TikTok and Instagram where the likes of our followers will decide who will win the $500 top prize, WWOOF Canada SWAG package, and free WWOOF membership!

    Videos:

    Capture inspiring videos that show people the magic of WWOOF. TikToks and Reels should showcase WWOOF’s diverse members, highlight the fun of WWOOFing/hosting, and inspire others to have incredible WWOOF adventures on farms across Canada. Your videos should:

      • Have good lighting, framing, and focus!
      • Show WWOOFers and/or hosts
      • Show people’s faces, especially their smiles.
      • Show bountiful gardens, stunning vistas, community moments, delicious meals, hard-work and cooperation, and other unique and interesting moments.
      • Be educational, inspiring, funny, or all of the above!
      • Be any format – they could feature voice over, montage, music, text, time-lapse, whatever!
    Rules & Reminders:
      • The contest is open only to current (at the time the videos were taken) WWOOF Canada members – both hosts and WWOOFers.
      • The submitter MUST obtain permission from all people featured in the video before submitting
      • All video should have been captured in the previous year
      • Videos should be under 1 minute long
      • By submitting a video to this contest, you grant WWOOF Canada an irrevocable, royalty-free license to copy, distribute, modify, display and perform publicly, and otherwise use, as well as authorize others to use, your video for any promotional or advertising purpose and in any format.
    Judging & Prizes:

    Once the contest has closed, the WWOOF Canada team will choose three finalists. The finalist TikToks/Reel will be posted to the WWOOF Canada Instagram and Tiktok, and the ultimate winner will be decided by the ‘likes’ of our followers. Whichever video receives the most ‘likes’ will receive the top prize. Whichever video receives the second most ‘likes’ will receive the second place prize. The final video will receive our third-place prize.

      • 1st place will receive $500 + WWOOF Canada SWAG package + free WWOOF membership
      • 2nd place will receive $250 + free WWOOF membership
      • 3rd place will receive $100 + free WWOOF membership

    Important Dates:

    The contest will be accepting entries beginning June 1, 2023 through October 30, 2023. The winners will be announced by November 15, 2023. 

    The finalists will be posted to our Instagram the week after the deadline.
