Meet the team

🥕 WWOOF Canada is made up of a very small team of just two staff members. We feel privileged to be part of the WWOOF community, having been both WWOOFers and hosts ourselves.  We take great joy and meaning from helping our members get the most out of their WWOOF experience.

Executive Director– Robin

Robin’s connection to WWOOF began as a teenager, growing up on a WWOOF farm in Bass River, Nova Scotia. He has since been a WWOOFer and host, giving him an understanding of the ins and outs of the WWOOF exchange and community. Robin first started working with WWOOF in Spring 2020 as the Social Media Manager, and since then has taken on a variety of other roles and responsibilities with the organisation. Robin has a degree in Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University, and ten years of experience working with a variety of social change organisations and non-profits.

Coordinator – Catherine

Catherine grew up in the countryside of Quebec and speaks both of Canada’s official languages. She discovered WWOOF in 2015 while on a personal journey to embrace a lifestyle grounded in anti-materialism and solidarity. After discovering WWOOF, Catherine stayed with hosts in multiple countries, such as the United States, Indonesia and Zimbabwe, finding a meaningful community. She holds a degree in Agricultural & Environmental Sciences from McGill University and a Certificate in Feature Journalism from the University of Cape Town. Catherine is a certified agronomist specializing in ecological agriculture and environmental projects. She worked on multiple farms located in Quebec to learn about farming practices and gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture. Additionally, she has engaged enthusiastically in community-based initiatives and finds joy in communicating her passion for agriculture with others. Catherine often writes on sustainable living, the importance of agriculture in our society, the evolution of the agri-food world and the ways to strengthen local communities. Her articles have been published in magazines and blogs such as Agri Extra and Dinette.
