How Are WWOOF Canada Hosts Vetted?

Did you know that, unlike other volunteering platforms, every new WWOOF host goes through a selective approval process?

The safety and well-being of our members is our top priority – which is why we carefully vet each new host. This helps us to ensure that our hosts are prepared to provide a safe space and positive environment for WWOOFers.

On top of our basic criteria, being a host also entails being excited to host WWOOFers for an educational and cultural exchange: that means teaching WWOOFers skills in organic farming and sustainable living, as well as sharing their daily life and welcoming WWOOFers into their community.

How We Vet Our Hosts

🌏  In Depth Profile Review

We verify that hosts display all important information about their farm, and a variety of photos, including the  WWOOFers’ sleeping quarters.

📞  30-minute Phone Interview

We call every new host to ask them questions about their farm, how they plan to welcome WWOOFers, and provide general advice about hosting!

🖋️  Sign Our Respectful Relationships Policy

This document, which every new host must sign, sets expectations for creating respectful, healthy, and meaningful relationships with prospective WWOOFers.

🪪  ID Verification

Every host is required to send a copy of their government-issued photo ID for the WWOOF Canada team to review and verify.
