Across Canada, something powerful is happening through WWOOF.
A first-time harvesting food.
A skill passed from farmer to learner.
A moment when someone begins to see food—and their future—differently.
We’re inviting you to share those moments.
Why Your Story Matters
Canada is facing a real challenge: small farms are disappearing, and with them, our connection to the land, our food, and one another.
Yet across the country, something powerful is unfolding as well. Often quietly, but with real impact. People are discovering farming for the first time through WWOOF, while experienced hosts are generously sharing decades of knowledge.
From one person to another, and from farm to farm, skills are being passed on, confidence is growing, and a sense of inspiration is taking root. Does this resonate with something you’ve experienced?
Your story is part of that bigger picture.
When you share your experience, you help show how:
- People can learn where their food comes from
- Knowledge is passed between generations
- Relationships take root and strengthen our communities
- Perspectives on food, land, and sustainability shift for the long term
These are the stories that help others understand why our community matters—and why this movement needs to continue growing.
What We’re Looking For
We want to hear from both WWOOFers and Hosts.
You might share:
- What you learned on the farm
- A meaningful experience or relationship
- How WWOOF changed your direction or perspective
- The lasting impact on your life, work, or farm
Honest, specific stories are the most powerful.
Stories (ideally) contain:
- 300–1500 words
- A few photos (phone photos are great)
- Real experiences and reflections
Not sure if your story fits? It likely does.
Send Us Your Story
Email your story and photos to: info@wwoof.ca
Even a few notes are enough—we’re happy to help shape your story with you.
Your story matters. And together, these stories help grow the future of farming in Canada.
