This spring, WWOOF Canada invited applications for two open positions on our Board of Directors. We were thrilled to receive more than 30 applications from across the country, largely from current and former WWOOFers and hosts who are passionate about supporting our community and helping the organization grow.
Following a review of applications and interviews conducted throughout April, we are excited to welcome two new members to the WWOOF Canada Board: Myste and Josée Marsollier.
Meet Myste Anderson
Myste is a recently joined WWOOF host whose values are deeply rooted in simple living, land stewardship, and community care. Based at her off-grid homestead, she spends her time tending gardens, building a food forest, and exploring ways of living in harmony with the natural world.
Beyond her connection to the land, Myste brings extensive experience in community engagement and organizational leadership. Over the years, she has served in a variety of roles within non-profit organizations, including volunteer, executive assistant, director, and regional coordinator supporting wellness initiatives and teams. Self-employed for nearly two decades, she also brings strong skills in creative marketing, communications, and problem-solving.
We are excited to welcome Myste’s fresh perspective as a new host, along with her wealth of experience in building and supporting thriving communities.
Meet Josée Marsollier
Josée has been part of the WWOOF community for more than ten years, first as a WWOOFer and later as a host. Raised on a farm in Québec, her connection to agriculture and life on the land began at an early age and continues to shape her work today.
Before establishing her own farm in the Gaspé Peninsula, Josée travelled extensively, learning about sustainable farming practices, ecological living, and community-building from diverse cultures around the world. Today, she welcomes others to share in those experiences through her farm and her commitment to hands-on learning.
In addition to her long-standing involvement with WWOOF, Josée brings significant governance and leadership experience. She has operated her own business for more than twelve years, served on several boards, and currently works as a coordinator for an organization promoting midwifery services in her region.
Josée’s deep understanding of the WWOOF experience—from both the WWOOFer and host perspectives—combined with her commitment to ecological living and community resilience, will be a tremendous asset to the organization.
Please join us in welcoming Myste and Josée to the WWOOF Canada Board. We look forward to the knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm they will bring as we continue working to strengthen and grow the WWOOF community across Canada.
